The Curatorial Workshop is a unique educational program created by Jagna Domżalska in collaboration with Rodriguez Foundation. It is dedicated to individuals who are exploring curatorial practice and are particularly seeking experience working with exhibition spaces. The opportunity to practically implement an exhibition is a key step in recognizing and developing one's own working method.
The project promotes the idea of this profession as not only a theoretical pursuit, but one that requires visual sensitivity, perceptual alertness, and compositional skills, as well as responsiveness to a specific site and its conditions. Treating curatorial practice as a creative activity, the project's author compares it to artistic disciplines and proposes a teaching model using the studio method.
Jagna Domżalska runs the Curatorial Workshop at the Foundation's exhibition space. It becomes a classroom to which participants will have constant access. There, they can prepare their tasks and projects, talk, exchange experiences, and, above all, familiarize themselves with the space in which they will ultimately create the exhibition. The Rodriguez Foundation provides logistical support and leads a section related to the practical aspects
of working on the exhibition (creating contracts, insurance, transport, logistics, collaborating with artists, promotion, etc.).
