Nothing is new, just as nothing is old. What appears must disappear; everything that disappears returns as a spectre. Spectres operate through media, and the causal relation between the two can run in either direction. Although no trend encompasses everyone, it's a mechanism that organizes visibility, desire and value. Images gather into moodboards, associations cluster into vibes. Its point of departure lies in the forms of objects that cyclically return within culture: shoe heels, the shapes of screens, and other signs recognised as “fashionable,” “outdated,” or “desirable.” The installation brings together photographs, objects, and sound. Viewers become part of the infrastructure transmitting the signal.
